Branding: Visual Identity / Marketing: Digital / Marketing: Print / Marketing: Website
Located in Fremantle WA, Strange Company is one of the city’s most cherished small bars. When the lads approached us to take on their brand management as they were getting ready to launch, we quickly realised that although they had a logo, they didn’t quite have a brand yet. We set about re-investigating the core ideas behind what they wanted to achieve and came to their collective love of The Big Lebowski and the meeting of strangers at the bar. This scene distilled a fundamental concept of the bar as a place that facilitates the wonderful meeting of strangers from different walks of life and was the inspiration for the bar name, the logo and what they wanted to do with the space.
With that our mission was clear. We developed a typography palette, an extended colour palette, image treatment and image direction that celebrated the intersection of diverse strangers you might meet at the bar, should you be so lucky.
